CORNHOLE SETUP
(AS PER THE AMERICAN CORNHOLE ASSOCIATION)
All cornhole games will take place on the Wolf Brewing Company beer garden lawn. In the event of severe weather conditions, cornhole games/matchups may be delayed or rescheduled to a different date.
Cornhole Boards:
Standard cornhole boards are 2-ft. x 4-ft. The hole is positioned approximately 9 inches from the top of the board, with a 6 inch diameter.
Cornhole Bags:
Each team has four cornhole bags of contrasting colors. Cornhole bags should be 6 inches x 6 inches and weigh approximately 1 pound.
Cornhole Board Distance:
The cornhole boards are placed 25 feet* apart from front edge to front edge.
*ACA standard distance between boards is 27 feet, but for the enjoyment of league play and to adapt the game to our designated cornhole area, we adjusted this distance to approximately 25 feet between boards - from front edge to front edge).
Court Dimensions:
A cornhole court shall be a level rectangular area 10-12 feet wide and a minimum of 40-45 feet long. The court consists of two cornhole boards, designated pitcher's boxes, and foul lines. See image below.
(For the enjoyment of league play and to adapt the game to our designated cornhole area, some measurements are subject to change.)
HOW TO PLAY
Objective:
Be the first team to reach (or exceed) a score of 21 points at the end of an inning of play.
Cornhole Rules:
-Cornhole is played with two teams, each consisting of a minimum of 2 players and a maximum of 4 players. Players can be rotated between completed innings.
-At the start of the first game, the winner of the coin toss will start throwing bags first.
-Players pitch their bags in an underhand motion from the pitcher's box next to each side of the board.
-Players alternate turns tossing their cornhole bags toward the opposite board.
-After each team has pitched four bags, players take score, and resume pitching to the opposite board.
-The team who scored points in the previous inning goes first in the next inning. If it was tied, the team who went first in the last inning gets to go first again.
Cornhole Scoring:
-A cornhole bag that goes through the hole is worth 3 points.
-A cornhole bag that lands on the board and stays there is worth 1 point.
-A cornhole bag that lands on the ground or bounces onto the board is worth 0 points.
-Cancellation Scoring: Only one team can score points per inning. The team with the higher score cancels out the points of the opposing team in that inning.
-Points Calculation: The team with the higher score in an inning earns the difference in points. For instance, if Team A scores 5 points and Team B scores 2 points in an inning, Team A earns 3 points for that inning.
Fouls:
A foul occurs when any of the following happens:
-Cornhole player's foot goes past the foot foul line, termed a foot foul.
-Player goes out of turn.
-Player goes to pick up the bags before the round is over.
The player who caused the foul loses the throw when the foul occurred and the bag shall be removed if it landed on the playing surface.
Winning the Game:
The first team to reach or exceed 21 points at the conclusion of an inning is the winner. The winner from each matchup is the best out of 5 games or 60 minutes - whichever occurs first. If the game is tied, players will play a sudden death round until the tie is broken.
